The "AplauZ" brand features premium selection wines from winery Villa Melnik, South Bulgaria. It is made from carefully hand-selected grapes from the noble Mavrud grape and Melnik counted exclusively in the Melnik/Struma Valley region. The vineyard is located right next to the Melnik winery on a slope, some 400-500 m from the eponymous town of Melnik. Driven harvest during the third week of September, at full ripeness and at optimal parameters.

Mavrud and Melnik grapes for this rosé are specially selected and hand harvested. In the winery , cold maceration with skins for 24h then fermentation in temperature controlled RSV tanks after that several months aging " Sur lie" , blend between the 2 grapes is then made for the final wine. Intense yet elegant wine showing the perfect character of Melnik region.

Our tasting notes: 

The wine has a beautiful pink-salmon color. The nose is clean, intense and affecting. Aromas of .... red fruits such as raspberry, strawberries, some spicy and floral notes. In the background nice, balanced aromas and structured, result of and "on the lees" aging. Fresh attack on the palate, dry, mineral and elegant also shows character, a proof of precision work in the winery.  A Top wine rosé wine from Bulgaria that definitely deserves a place in your wine cabinet this summer!
