Red Misket from the Karlovo Valley, Southern Bulgaria. This authentic, late-ripening Bulgarian variety is one of the gems of the Rose Valley in the Thracian Lowlands. The vineyards are nestled at the foot of the Stara Planina Mountains to the north and Sredna Gora to the south, creating a unique and sheltered microclimate with minimal influence from air currents. The vines are 45 years old and grow at an altitude of approximately 350 meters on loam and sandy soil.
Vinification: Hand-picked grapes in trays. Spontaneous alcohol fermentation in stainless steel barrels with 300 liters of volume . After that 3 months aging 'on the lees' (sur lie) with weekly stirring/'bâtonnage'. Vintage 2023 only 4750 bottles.
Alcohol -12,5 %; Residual sugar - 1,2 gr/l; TA - 4,63 gr/l; pH -3,37
Our tasting notes: Bright yellow colour with green hues. Intense and open floral aromas complemented by grapefruit and citrus notes and some mineral notes like wet stone. Generous and pure on the palate, light to medium bodied with pronounced white floral and fruit character that confirms the notes on the nose with lingering crisp and long lasting finish.
With food: As an aperitif, salads, fish, light Asian dishes, shellfish
