The Black Sea region in 6 wines

The Black Sea in a box — 6 wines, 1 summer!

Close your eyes. Sun on your face, salt in the air, a glass in your hand. Now open them — you're still in your garden. But your glass? That's at the Black Sea.

The region you haven't discovered yet

Bulgaria's Northern Black Sea Coast is one of Europe's most exciting and undiscovered wine regions. The combination of a maritime climate, warm summers, cool sea breezes and exceptional fossil-limestone soils creates a unique terroir that produces wines of surprising minerality, freshness and authenticity. From the coastal plains right by the waves to the hills slightly further inland within the same region — this is a wine world apart.

This summer we're taking you on a journey across 4 exceptional wineries from this region — each with their own vision, character and story.

The 4 wineries:

Odessos Winery — Urban winery on Lake Varna, with single vineyard wines from iconic coastal parcels. The vineyards are literally within walking distance of the Black Sea. Fresh, mineral and salty — you can taste the sea in every glass.

Clos Bibliothèque — On the site of a 10th-century monastery near Nevsha grows one of Bulgaria's most remarkable vineyards, on a limestone soil composed of 83-million-year-old marine fossils. Burgundian elegance on Bulgarian soil — Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and the indigenous Dimyat at an exceptional level.

Devina Winery — A family winery that upholds the rich winemaking tradition of the Black Sea region with authentic, terroir-driven wines from both local and international grape varieties.

Tsarev Brod — Slightly further inland but still within the same region, Tsarev Brod produces wines that capture the transition between fresh coastal influences and the warmer inland microclimates — a fascinating contrast in a single glass.

The selection of 6 wines has been put together in a tasting pack and is available at a special summer price from July 7 to August 9!
