Magura Winemaker has been created upon Todor Jivkov’s idea (communistic leader), who decided in the 70s during a visit to the Champagne region to make 'Champagne' in Bulgaria, according to the 'traditional method'. The Magura cave in Rabisha was the ideal place to age sparkling wines at a constant temperature of 12 °C. Beside sparkling wines, the accent of the modern face of the winery relies on the local varieties such as Gamza and Vrachanski Misket as well as internationals Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc.
