Orange wines prove that everything new is in fact long known in this world. The Orange wine is made from white grapes, the skins of which have been soaked for some time in the 'must', the unfermented fruit juice. This process is called 'skins contact' or 'maceration'. With this Orange from Villa Melnik the skin contact lasts 2 weeks and then the reading matures for another 4 weeks. Made from Sauvignon Blanc and very rare local grape from Struma Valley region, the Keratsuda variety. A modern and exciting Bulgarian orange wine from Villa Melnik, that many wine lovers will enjoy!
Our tasting notes:
Golden yellow color, beautiful orange tint. Intense, very complex, influential aromas of floral - acacia, apricot, peach, quince, fresh pineapple, touch of roasted almond and hint of creaminess . In the mouth it is a bone dry and fresh wine with a good balance. Flavors of peach, quince, pineapple, notes of honey and almond are elegantly reflected in the finish. Beautiful "nutmeg bitterness" and floral touch complete the palette of flavours. The wine has medium body, with a nice balance and a dry, long, fresh finish.
