Variety: 100% Riesling
Vintage: 2022
Vineyards: Venchan village, Provadia municipality, Varna region, PGI Danube Plain. The vines are 19 years old, located between the foot of the Venchansko Kale and the Zlatina River. The soil is sandy-clay carbonates. The exposure is southeast. Altitude – 90 m.
Technology: The grapes are picked by hand in small boxes and transported to a cold room. The cooled grapes are manually sorted, crushed, and gently pressed at low pressure. The finest must is cold settled and racked for alcoholic fermentation. The temperature of alcoholic fermentation is controlled at 11-15°C.
Technical details: Alcohol – 12%; Acids – 8 g/l; pH – 2.90 ; Residual sugars – 2 g/l
Aging: The wine is aged for 3 months on fine lees. All wines are with low intervention. The appearance of a noble lees is possible.
Tasting Notes: The Riesling has a pale steel color with a straw tint. Intense and varietal nose with notes of petroleum, ripe citrus, lime, and beeswax. Light to medium body with excellent freshness and an elegant finish. Serve between 8° and 10°C.
Food pairing: It is successfully combined with spicy dishes, including Asian cuisine. Fatty meats such as duck and bacon. Soft cheeses such as brie, mascarpone, mozzarella, and ricotta. Fish, seafood, and crustaceans are also a good choice.
Drinking window: 2024-2034 wine with cellar potential.
