• Bratanov Private Reserve Rubin 2019

The grapes were harvested on September 9th 2019, with a naturally low yield of 400 kg per decare. After spontaneous fermentation in a stainless steel vessel, the wine matures in only 7 barrels -  Bulgarian 400 L,  Hungarian 500 L, and  Bulgarian 500 L. The total aging in the oak is 36 months, and the interesting approach here is that after the 30th month the 7 barrels were mixed and then returned as a blend in the same barrels for an additional aging of 6 months. The wine has matured for another 2 years (!) in the bottle before entering the market in November 2022. Unfiltered - a noble precipitate may appear. Produced in a limited quantity of 3.100 bottles of this vintage 2017 ! We recommend decanting the wine before enjoying it!

Our Tasting description:

thick and deep garnet color. Complex aromas of dark chocolate with black ripe fruits confit, licorice, spices and tobacco are revealed. They find their natural continuation in a powerful and multi-layered body with noble development, in which we find more notes of mocha, smoke, dried flowers and ink. At the end there is a long spicy memory of sweet spices, leather and a box of cigars. Complex and noble wine with significant potential for aging for at least 7 years.

We strongly recommend decanting for at least 30 minutes before consumption!

 Best with:

beef steak, stewed beef tongue, game terrines, mature cheeses, dark chocolate desserts
