Region: Black Sea Coast, Bulgaria
Grape: 100% Pamid - indigenous Bulgarian red grape variety, one of the oldest, considered to be on this landsform Thracian times.
Vineyard: A single vineyard near Slanchevo village, Varna region – North East Bulgaria. The vines are 20 year oldlocated between the Varna lake and the rock phenomenon 'Pobiti Kamani' (Petrified Rocks). The soil is sandy-clay, withlimestone bed. The exposure is southeast at an altitude of 150 m, 15 km from the Black Sea coast.
Winemaking: Hand-picked grapes, up to 70% whole bunch and 30% destemmed. 5 days of cold soak prior tospontaneous fermentation in open top vats with daily stomping and plunging. 14 days of post fermentative maceration. Half of the wine is aged for 4 months in big Bulgarian oak barrels, the other half – in stainless steel tank. No finings or filtration, noble lees may appear. Low in added sulphites!

TASTING NOTES
Colour: Pale ruby red
Nose: Delicate nose of ripe red fruits and herbs.
Palate: Elegant medium bodied red, very fresh and fruity carrying the tipicity of the Pamid grap variety. Ripecherry and raspberry notes, crisp acidity with smooth silky soft tannins and vibrant long finish.
Food match: Roast vegetables, chicken, guinea fowl, pheasant, mushroom dishes, light soft cheeses. Recommended to be enjoyed lightly chilled.
