This delicious wine is coming from a region dominated by white varietals – North East Bulgaria, PGI Danube Plain. Excellent example of “right to the point sauvignon blanc“, made from “old vine”, probably the oldest wine-stocks planted after de Regime in the country!
The grapes for the wine were gathered from the vineyards of the winery Tsarev Brod near Shumen. Manually sorted before crushing, short maceration on skins, gentle pressing, long fermentation in stainless steel. Aged "sur lie" for 6 months.
Our tasting notes:
Delicate, straw color with green hues. In the nose: expressive and aromatic. Aromas of cut grass, some citrus fruit, white peach, lemon zest, notes of wet stone and white pepper. Light body in the mouth, dry with many well-integrated acids, with juicy texture, citrus, peach, floral, mineral notes. Medium long aftertaste, fruity and spicy notes on top.
Beautifully made Sauvignon Blanc from the north of Bulgaria. Perfect balance between fresh acidity and fruity/aromatic profile of the wine with remarkable concentration.
Best with:
Food-oriented wine! Fish, shellfish, green salads, marinated fish, tapas, Asian dishes, asparagus, aperitif, chicken, goat cheese.
